Today was not a great day but it was a good one. The hot shower I took last night before going to bed did wonders to get rid of my cold, and today it was much less worse than last night. I was sure I was not going to be able to wake up this morning, but for some reason I actually woke up an hour before I normally wake up. Before all my alarms went off in fact. Strange. It did however take me 30 minutes to start doing something since I was feeling slow-mo, but I still managed to get to work at a decent time. Nonetheless, being sick at work sucks, so I had my box of tissues and my water bottle basically glued to my hands. My experiments this morning didn't work, whether this was due to my being sick and not functioning properly I don't know, but the results weren't there. That made me a bit nervous since I'm almost running out of the product needed and it is quite expensive... yikes!
At lunch one of the people I eat with had made cupcakes so we had a dessert feast after lunch. They were very good and it was very nice of her. I should do the same at some point... After lunch we went for a walk as usual and then I basically spent the afternoon reading some articles, blowing my nose and doing another experiment. While walking back home after getting off the bus something happened to me that never happened before: I decided that I would just "shake off" the cold as they say. I didn't think it was something that could be done, but I was tired of feeling disgusting, slow-mo and lazy, so I decided right there and then that I would just stop being sick. It was quite a moment and when I finally got home I cleaned the mess I had left to accumulate since I've been sick, I did my way overdue laundry, made a nice meal and cleaned the kitchen. I felt much better afterwards. I hope that tomorrow my cold will be long gone!
Tomorrow I have an entire day of "training" for radioprotection, something I don't even need, and so I am really not looking forward to it. It will probably be very long and very boring, so really I just want to get it over with. Urgh. I can NOT wait for the weekend. It will be much appreciated after this crazy week.
